A man came, meaning to ʿUthmān ؓ, and said: "O Commander of the Believers, I have killed; is there repentance for me?" So ʿUthmān ؓ recited to him: {حم تَنْـزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ مِنَ اللهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ غَافِرِ الذَّنْبِ وَقَابِلِ التَّوْبِ شَدِيدِ الْعِقَابِ}. Then he said to him: "Act, and do not despair."
