What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Jawzī

machine translationIn its chain is ʿAbd al-Karīm b. Abī al-Mukhāriq Abū Umayyah, who is weak (ḍaʿīf); his hadith is not used as evidence.

  • Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī

machine translationIbn al-Jawzī erred, for the one in it is only ʿAbd al-Karīm al-Jazarī, the trustworthy (thiqah), whose narrations are included in the Ṣaḥīḥ.

  • ʿAbd al-ʿAẓīm al-Mudhirī

machine translationSome held that this ʿAbd al-Karīm is Ibn Abī al-Mukhāriq and declared the hadith weak (ḍaʿīf) because of him, but the correct view is that he is ʿAbd al-Karīm b. Mālik al-Jazarī, who is trustworthy (thiqah); the two Shaykhs and others used him as evidence.

  • Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥākim

machine translationThe chain is sound (ṣaḥīḥ al-isnād).
