حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْوَرْكَانِيُّ
وُضِعَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ بَيْنَ الْمِنْبَرِ وَالْقَبْرِ، فَجَاءَ عَلِيٌّ حَتَّى قَامَ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الصُّفُوفِ، فَقَالَ: هُوَ هَذَا - ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ -، ثُمَّ قَالَ: رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْكَ، مَا مِنْ خَلْقِ اللهِ تَعَالَى أَحَدٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَلْقَاهُ بِصَحِيفَتِهِ بَعْدَ صَحِيفَةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنْ هَذَا الْمُسَجَّى عَلَيْهِ ثَوْبُهُ
Translation

✧ 'Umar b. al-Khattab was placed between the pulpit and the grave. 'Ali came and stood before the rows and said: 'It is this one' — three times — then he said: 'May Allah have mercy on you. There is no one among Allah's creation, exalted be He, more beloved to me than to meet Him with his record after the record of the Prophet ﷺ than this one covered with his garment.'
