حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْهَرَوِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ عُمَرَ، وَهُوَ مُسَجًّى بِثَوْبِهِ، قَدْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ، فَجَاءَ عَلِيٌّ فَكَشَفَ الثَّوْبَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْكَ [أَبَا حَفْصٍ]، فَوَاللهِ مَا بَقِيَ بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَحَدٌ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ أَنْ أَلْقَى اللهَ تَعَالَى بِصَحِيفَتِهِ مِنْكَ
Translation

✧ I was with 'Umar while he was covered with his garment, having fulfilled his term. 'Ali came and uncovered the garment from his face, then said: 'May Allah have mercy on you, O Abu Hafs. By Allah, after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ there remains no one more beloved to me than to meet Allah, exalted be He, with his record than you.'
