✧ By Allah, Allah has not created any believer who hears of me or sees me except that he loves me. I said: How do you know that, O Abu Hurayrah? He said: My mother was a polytheist woman, and I used to call her to Islam but she refused. One day I called her and she made me hear about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what I disliked. So I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ weeping and said: O Messenger of Allah, I used to call my mother to Islam but she refused, and today I called her and she made me hear about you what I disliked. So supplicate to Allah to guide the mother of Abu Hurayrah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O Allah, guide the mother of Abu Hurayrah. I went out running to give her the good news of the supplication of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When I reached the door, it was bolted, and I heard the splashing of water, and she heard the sound of my footsteps—meaning their fall—so she said: O Abu Hurayrah, stay where you are. Then she opened the door, having put on her garment but hurried without her headcover, and said: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. I returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ weeping from joy just as I had wept from grief, and said: O Messenger of Allah, rejoice, for Allah has answered your supplication and guided the mother of Abu Hurayrah. I said: O Messenger of Allah, supplicate to Allah to make me and my mother beloved to His believing servants and to make them beloved to us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O Allah, make this servant of Yours and his mother beloved to Your believing servants, and make them beloved to them. So Allah has not created any believer who hears of me or sees me, or sees my mother, except that he loves me.
