جَاءَ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ إِلَى مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَقَالَ لَهُ: أَجِبْ رَبَّكَ. قَالَ: فَلَطَمَ مُوسَى عَيْنَ مَلَكِ الْمَوْتِ فَفَقَأَهَا. قَالَ: فَرَجَعَ الْمَلَكُ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ؛ فَقَالَ: إِنَّكَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي إِلَى عَبْدٍ لَكَ لَا يُرِيدُ الْمَوْتَ، وَقَدْ فَقَأَ عَيْنِي. قَالَ: فَرَدَّ اللهُ عَيْنَهُ وَقَالَ: ارْجِعْ إِلَى عَبْدِي فَقُلِ: الْحَيَاةَ تُرِيدُ ؟ فَإِنْ كُنْتَ تُرِيدُ الْحَيَاةَ فَضَعْ يَدَكَ عَلَى مَتْنِ ثَوْرٍ، فَمَا تَوَارَتْ بِيَدِكَ مِنْ شَعَرَةٍ، فَإِنَّكَ تَعِيشُ بِهَا سَنَةً، قَالَ: ثُمَّ مَهْ ؟ قَالَ: ثُمَّ تَمُوتُ. قَالَ: فَالْآنَ مِنْ قَرِيبٍ. قَالَ: رَبِّ، أَدْنِنِي مِنَ الْأَرْضِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ رَمْيَةً بِحَجَرٍ. 8289 - قَالَ: وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: وَاللهِ لَوْ أَنِّي عِنْدَهُ لَأَرَيْتُكُمْ قَبْرَهُ إِلَى جَنْبِ الطَّرِيقِ، عِنْدَ الْكَثِيبِ الْأَحْمَرِ
Translation
✧ The Angel of Death came to Moses ﷺ and said to him, “Answer your Lord.” He said: Moses struck the eye of the Angel of Death and gouged it out. He said: The angel returned to Allah, mighty and majestic, and said, “You sent me to a servant of Yours who does not want to die, and he has gouged out my eye.” He said: Allah restored his eye and said, “Return to My servant and say: Do you want life? If you want life, place your hand on the back of a bull, and as many hairs as your hand covers, you will live for that many years.” He said, “Then what?” He said, “Then you will die.” He said, “Then now, from near.” He said, “My Lord, bring me within a stone’s throw of the Holy Land.” 8289 – He said: And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “By Allah, if I were near him, I would show you his grave beside the road, by the red sand dune.”
