✧ His father was in charge of Uthman's food. He said: It is as if I am looking at the partridges around the platters. A man came and said: Ali dislikes this. So he sent for Ali, and he was smearing his hands with leaves. He said: You are very contrary to us. Ali said: I remind by Allah anyone who witnessed the Prophet ﷺ when a haunch of a wild donkey was brought to him while he was in ihram, and he said: We are in ihram, so feed it to those who are not in ihram. Men stood up and bore witness. Then he said: I remind by Allah any man who witnessed the Prophet ﷺ when five eggs, ostrich eggs, were brought to him, and he said: We are in ihram, so feed them to those who are not in ihram. Men stood up and bore witness. Uthman got up, entered his tent, and they left the food to the people of the water.
