✧ Amr b. Huraith visited al-Hasan b. Ali, and Ali said to him: "You visit al-Hasan while you harbor in your heart what you harbor?" Amr said to him: "You are not my Lord, to turn my heart wherever you wish." Ali said: "That does not prevent us from giving you sincere advice. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'No Muslim visits his brother but Allah sends seventy thousand angels to invoke blessings upon him, from whatever hour of the day it is until evening, and from whatever hour of the night until morning.' Amr said to him: "What do you say about walking with the funeral procession: in front of it or behind it?" Ali said: "The merit of walking behind it over in front of it is like the merit of the prescribed prayer in congregation over praying alone." Amr said: "I saw Abu Bakr and Umar walking in front of the funeral procession." Ali said: "They [only] disliked crowding the people."
