machine translationYazīd b. Yazīd b. Jābir narrates it from ʿIrāk from Abū Hurayrah as a statement of the Companion (mawqūf). Sulaymān b. Yasār, Mūsā b. ʿUqbah, Bukayr b. al-Ashajj and Makḥūl al-Dimashqī contradicted him; they narrated it from ʿIrāk from Abū Hurayrah as raised to the Prophet (marfūʿ). Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah, Ayyūb b. Mūsā and Usāmah b. Zayd al-Laythī narrated it from Makḥūl, and there is disagreement concerning him. Zayd b. Shuʿayb, Jaʿfar b. ʿAwn, Abū Usāmah and ʿAbdullāh b. Wahb narrated it from Usāmah b. Zayd from Makḥūl from ʿIrāk from Abū Hurayrah. ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar narrated it from Usāmah b. Zayd from ʿIrāk from Abū Hurayrah, without mentioning Makḥūl between them; this was said by ʿAlī b. Mushir, Yaḥyā b. Abī Zā'idah and Ibn Numayr. Abū Usāmah said, from ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar, from one who heard ʿIrāk, and he mentioned neither Usāmah nor Makḥūl. Abū Khālid al-Aḥmar narrated it from Usāmah b. Zayd from Makḥūl: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, as a mursal report. Usāmah also has another chain for it, from Saʿīd al-Maqburī from Abū Hurayrah. Yazīd b. Khālid b. Mawhab narrated it from Yaḥyā b. Zakariyyā b. Abī Zā'idah from ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar from Abū al-Zinād from al-Aʿraj from Abū Hurayrah, and he was mistaken in it. The correct version is from Yaḥyā b. Abī Zā'idah from ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar from Usāmah b. Zayd from ʿIrāk from Abū Hurayrah. Yaḥyā b. Muḥammad b. Ṣāʿid narrated to us, ʿAlī b. Dāwūd al-Qanṭarī narrated to us, Yazīd b. Khālid b. Mawhab narrated to us, Yaḥyā b. Zakariyyā b. Abī Zā'idah narrated to us, from ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar, from Abū al-Zinād, from al-Aʿraj, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "A Muslim owes no zakāh on his slave or his horse, except that on slaves there is the zakāh of al-fiṭr."
