✧ I was hiding behind the curtains of the Kaaba when three men came: a Thaqafi and his two sons-in-law, Qurayshis, with much fat on their bellies and little understanding in their hearts. They talked among themselves. One of them said: Do you think Allah, Mighty and Majestic, hears what we say? Another said: I think He hears if we raise our voices, but does not hear if we lower them. The third said: If He hears any of it, He hears all of it. I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: "And you were not covering yourselves lest your hearing testify against you" up to "the losers."
