machine translationBoth reports are authentic (ṣaḥīḥ), and there is no contradiction between them, that is, the report of ʿUmar and his son and the report of ʿĀʾishah.
in مسند أحمد, p. 387 - Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr
machine translationHere is ʿUmar, who narrated concerning the weeping of the living over the dead the same as the narration of his son, exactly. This is a firmly established hadith from ʿUmar, with a sound (ṣaḥīḥ) chain of narration about which no one has any criticism. A group narrated it from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, among them Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī and others.
