  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

هذا خطأ يقال وهم فيه الثوري وروى هذا الحديث عن عاصم جماعة فقالوا كلهم إن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم افتتح فرفع يديه ثم ركع فطبق ولم يقل أحد ما روى الثوري

machine translationThis is a mistake. It is said that al-Thawrī erred in it. A group narrated this hadith from ʿĀṣim, and all of them said that the Prophet ﷺ began the prayer, raised his hands, then bowed and placed his hands together between his knees (ṭabbaqa), and none of them said what al-Thawrī narrated.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Ibn al-Mubārak

    لم يثبت

machine translationIt is not established (lam yathbut).

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥākim

أن عاصم بن كليب لم يخرج له حديث في الصحيح

  • Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal

أثبت عن ابن مسعود بإسناد موصول قال لا إنما هو إبراهيم عن عبد الله

machine translationIt is more firmly established from Ibn Masʿūd by a connected chain. He said: No, it is only Ibrāhīm from ʿAbdullāh.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Dāraquṭnī

يرويه عاصم بن كليب عن عبد الرحمن بن الأسود عن علقمة حدث به الثوري عنه ورواه أبو بكر النهشلي عن عاصم بن كليب عن عبد الرحمن بن الأسود عن أبيه وعلقمة عن عبد الله وكذلك رواه ابن إدريس عن عاصم بن كليب عن عبد الرحمن بن الأسود عن علقمة عن عبد الله وإسناده صحيح

machine translationʿĀṣim b. Kulayb narrates it from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Aswad, from ʿAlqamah; al-Thawrī narrated it from him. Abū Bakr al-Nahshalī narrated it from ʿĀṣim b. Kulayb, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Aswad, from his father and ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh. Likewise Ibn Idrīs narrated it from ʿĀṣim b. Kulayb, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Aswad, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh, and its chain is authentic (ṣaḥīḥ).

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Ibn al-Qaṭṭān

الذي عندي أنه صحيح وإنما النكر فيه على وكيع زيادة ثم لا يعود وقالوا إنه كان يقولها من قبل نفسه وتارة لم يقلها وتارة أتبعها الحديث كأنها من كلام ابن مسعود

machine translationIn my view it is authentic (ṣaḥīḥ). What is objectionable (munkar) in it, against Wakīʿ, is the addition "then he did not repeat." They said that he used to say it on his own account; at times he did not say it, and at times he attached it to the hadith as though it were the words of Ibn Masʿūd.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

قال أبي هذا خطأ يقال وهم فيه الثوري وروى هذا الحديث عن عاصم جماعة فقالوا كلهم إن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم افتتح فرفع يديه ثم ركع فطبق وجعلهما بين ركبتيه ولم يقل أحد ما رواه الثوري

machine translationMy father said: This is an error. It is said that al-Thawrī made a mistake in it. A group narrated this hadith from ʿĀṣim, and all of them said that the Prophet ﷺ began the prayer and raised his hands, then bowed, clasped his hands together and placed them between his knees. No one said what al-Thawrī narrated.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • محمد بن وضاح القرطبي

الأحاديث التي تروى عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في رفع اليدين ثم لا يعود ضعيفة كلها

machine translationThe hadiths narrated from the Prophet ﷺ about raising the hands and then not repeating it are all weak (ḍaʿīf).

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Bazzār

إنه لا يثبت ولا يحتج بمثله

machine translationIt is not established, and the like of it is not taken as proof.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

هذا خطأ يقال وهم فيه الثوري فقد رواه جماعة عن عاصم وقالوا كلهم إن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم افتتح فرفع يديه ثم ركع فطبق وجعلهما بين ركبتيه ولم يقل أحد ما روى الثوري

machine translationThis is an error. It is said that al-Thawrī made a mistake in it, for a group narrated it from ʿĀṣim, and all of them said that the Prophet ﷺ began the prayer and raised his hands, then bowed, clasped his hands together and placed them between his knees. No one said what al-Thawrī narrated.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

هذه خطأ يقال وهو فيه الثوري فقد رواه جماعة عن عاصم ولم يقل أحد ما روى الثوري أي لفظة ثم لم يعد

machine translationThis is a mistake. It is said that al-Thawrī erred in it, for a group narrated it from ʿĀṣim and none of them said what al-Thawrī narrated, namely the phrase "then he did not repeat."

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Ibn Rajab

روي ذلك عن علي وابن مسعود مرفوعا وضعف المرفوع عامة أئمة الحديث قديما وحديثا

machine translationThat was narrated from ʿAlī and Ibn Masʿūd as a raised report (marfūʿ), and the raised version was declared weak (ḍaʿīf) by most of the imams of hadith, early and late.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • أبو علي الطوسي كردوش

    حديث حسن

    machine translationA good (ḥasan) hadith.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥākim

إبراهيم عن عبد الله مرسلا هذا هو المحفوظ وإبراهيم لم ير ابن مسعود فالحديث منقطع ومحمد بن جابر تكلم فيه أئمة الحديث

machine translationIbrāhīm from ʿAbdullāh, as a mursal report; this is the preserved (maḥfūẓ) version. Ibrāhīm did not see Ibn Masʿūd, so the hadith is broken in its chain (munqaṭiʿ). Muḥammad b. Jābir was criticised by the imams of hadith.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • ʿAbd al-ʿAẓīm al-Mudhirī

أن عاصم بن كليب لم يخرج له حديث في الصحيح

machine translationThat no hadith of ʿĀṣim b. Kulayb was narrated in the Ṣaḥīḥ.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Bazzār

حديث لا يثبت ولا يحتج به

machine translationA ḥadīth that is not established and cannot be used as evidence.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Ibn al-Mubārak

حديث وكيع لا يصح والذي عندي أنه صحيح وإنما النكر فيه على وكيع زيادة ثم لا يعود وقالوا إنه كان يقولها من قبل نفسه وتارة لم يقلها وتارة أتبعها

machine translationThe hadith of Wakīʿ is not sound (ṣaḥīḥ), whereas in my view it is sound; what is objectionable (munkar) in it, attributed to Wakīʿ, is the addition "then he did not repeat it." They said that he used to say it of his own accord; at times he did not say it, and at times he added it.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Dāraquṭnī

إنه حديث صحيح إلا هذه اللفظة يقصد لفظة لم يعد

machine translationIt is a sound (ṣaḥīḥ) hadith except for this phrase, meaning the phrase "he did not repeat."

    in مسند أحمد, p. 3737
  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

هذا خطأ يقال وهم فيه الثوري فقد رواه جماعة عن عاصم ولم يقل أحد ما روى الثوري

machine translationThis is a mistake. It is said that al-Thawrī erred in it, for a group narrated it from ʿĀṣim and none of them said what al-Thawrī narrated.
