حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ يَعْنِى ابْنَ يَزِيدَ الْأَيْلِيَّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شَدَّادٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ عُمَيْسٍ قَالَتْ
كُنْتُ صَاحِبَةَ عَائِشَةَ الَّتِي هَيَّأَتْهَا وَأَدْخَلَتْهَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَمَعِي نِسْوَةٌ. قَالَتْ: فَوَاللهِ مَا وَجَدْنَا عِنْدَهُ قِرًى إِلَّا قَدَحًا مِنْ لَبَنٍ. قَالَتْ: فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ، ثُمَّ نَاوَلَهُ عَائِشَةَ فَاسْتَحْيَتِ الْجَارِيَةُ، فَقُلْنَا: لَا تَرُدِّي يَدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، خُذِي مِنْهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُ عَلَى حَيَاءٍ فَشَرِبَتْ مِنْهُ. ثُمَّ قَالَ: نَاوِلِي صَوَاحِبَكِ. فَقُلْنَا: لَا نَشْتَهِيهِ. فَقَالَ: لَا تَجْمَعْنَ جُوعًا وَكَذِبًا. قَالَتْ: فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنْ قَالَتْ إِحْدَانَا لِشَيْءٍ تَشْتَهِيهِ: لَا أَشْتَهِيهِ يُعَدُّ ذَلِكَ كَذِبًا ؟ قَالَ: إِنَّ الْكَذِبَ يُكْتَبُ كَذِبًا، حَتَّى تُكْتَبَ الْكُذَيْبَةُ كُذَيْبَةً

✧ I was the companion of ʿĀ’ishah who prepared her and brought her in to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and with me were some women. She said: By God, we found with him no hospitality except a cup of milk. She said: He drank from it, then handed it to ʿĀ’ishah. The girl felt shy, so we said: Do not refuse the hand of the Messenger of God ﷺ; take it from him. So she took it shyly and drank from it. Then he said: Pass it to your companions. We said: We do not desire it. He said: Do not combine hunger and lying. She said: I said: O Messenger of God, if one of us says about something she desires, “I do not desire it,” is that counted as lying? He said: Lying is written down as lying, even a small lie is written down as a small lie.

في إسناده أبو شداد عن مجاهد قال في الميزان لم يرو عنه سوى ابن جريج قلت قد روى عنه يونس بن يزيد الأيلي في هذا الحديث في المسند فارتفعت الجهالة
machine translationIn its chain of transmission is Abū Shaddād, from Mujāhid. He said in al-Mīzān: "No one narrated from him except Ibn Jurayj." I say: Yūnus b. Yazīd al-Aylī also narrated from him in this hadith in the Musnad, so the unknown status (jahālah) is removed.
