حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ قَالَ حُصَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرٌ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ

أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا طَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَشْكُو إِلَيْهِ، فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهَا سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً. قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ: لَا نَدَعُ كِتَابَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَسُنَّةَ نَبِيِّهِ ﷺ لِقَوْلِ امْرَأَةٍ، لَعَلَّهَا نَسِيَتْ. قَالَ: قَالَ عَامِرٌ: وَحَدَّثَتْنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَعْتَدَّ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

Translation

✧ Her husband divorced her three times, and she came to the Prophet ﷺ complaining to him, and he did not grant her housing or maintenance. ‘Umar b. al-Khattab said: “We will not abandon the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and the Sunnah of His Prophet ﷺ for the statement of a woman; perhaps she forgot.” He said: ‘Amir said: She narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded her to observe her waiting period in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum.
