حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ زَيْنَبَ ابْنَةِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ
قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَلْ لِي مِنْ أَجْرٍ فِي بَنِي أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَنْ أُنْفِقَ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَلَسْتُ بِتَارِكَتِهِمْ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا، إِنَّمَا هُمْ بَنِيَّ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، لَكِ فِيهِمْ أَجْرُ مَا أَنْفَقْتِ عَلَيْهِمْ

✧ I said: “O Messenger of God, is there any reward for me if I spend on the sons of Abu Salamah, for I am not going to leave them like this and like that, since they are only my sons?” He said: “Yes, you will have a reward for whatever you spend on them.”
