✧ The Prophet ﷺ came to me while I was at Sarif and I was crying. He said: 'What makes you cry, O Aishah?' She said: I replied: 'The people will return with two rites, and I will return with only one rite.' He said: 'Why is that?' I said: 'I have started menstruating!' He said: 'That is something Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam. Do what the pilgrim does.' She said: Then we arrived at Makkah, then departed to Mina, then departed to Arafah, then stood with the people, then I stood at Muzdalifah, then I cast the Jamrah on the Day of Sacrifice, then I cast the Jamarat with the people during those days. She said: Then he departed and stopped at al-Hasbah. She said: By Allah, he only stopped there because of me—or Ibn Abi Mulaykah said on her behalf: only because of her—. Then he sent for Abd al-Rahman and said: 'Carry her behind you until you take her out of the Haram'—by Allah, he did not say 'take her out to al-Ji'irranah or to al-Tan'im'—'and let her enter ihram for an Umrah.' She said: So we set off, and the closest place to the Haram was al-Tan'im, so I entered ihram for an Umrah from there. Then I returned and came to the House and circumambulated it, and performed Sa'i between al-Safa and al-Marwah. Then I came to him and he departed. Ibn Abi Mulaykah said: Aishah used to do that afterwards.
