حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ اللَّيْثِيُّ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

فُرِضَتِ الصَّلَاةُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، فَزَادَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي صَلَاةِ الْحَضَرِ، وَتَرَكَ صَلَاةَ السَّفَرِ عَلَى نَحْوِهَا

Translation

✧ The prayer was prescribed as two rak'ahs, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ increased it for the resident prayer, but left the traveler's prayer as it was.
