✧ A Jewish woman came and begged at my door, saying, 'Feed me! May Allah protect you from the trial of the Dajjal and from the trial of the punishment of the grave.' She said: I kept her waiting until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came, then I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what does this Jewish woman say?' He said, 'What does she say?' I said, 'She says: May Allah protect you from the trial of the Dajjal and from the trial of the punishment of the grave.' Aishah said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and raised his hands, stretching them out, seeking refuge with Allah from the trial of the Dajjal and from the trial of the punishment of the grave. Then he said: 'As for the trial of the Dajjal, there was no prophet but he warned his nation, and I will warn you about him with a warning no prophet has given his nation: he is one-eyed, and Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is not one-eyed. Written between his eyes is "kāfir," which every believer will read. As for the trial of the grave, it is about me that you will be tested, and about me you will be asked. If the man is righteous, he will be seated in his grave unafraid and not terrified. Then it will be said to him: "In what were you?" He will say: "In Islam." It will be said: "Who was this man who was among you?" He will say: "Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; he came to us with clear proofs from Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and we believed him." Then a window will be opened for him toward the Fire, and he will look at it, one part of it crushing another. It will be said to him: "Look at what Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has protected you from." Then a window will be opened for him toward Paradise, and he will look at its splendor and what is in it. It will be said to him: "This is your seat in it," and it will be said: "Upon certainty you were, upon it you died, and upon it you will be raised, if Allah wills." If the man is evil, he will be seated in his grave terrified and panic-stricken. It will be said to him: "In what were you?" He will say: "I do not know." It will be said: "Who was this man who was among you?" He will say: "I heard people saying something, so I said as they said." Then a window will be opened for him toward Paradise, and he will look at its splendor and what is in it. It will be said to him: "Look at what Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has turned away from you." Then a window will be opened for him toward the Fire, and he will look at it, one part of it crushing another. It will be said to him: "This is your seat in it. Upon doubt you were, upon it you died, and upon it you will be raised, if Allah wills." Then he will be punished.'
