حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَابِسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَابِسِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَ
سَأَلْنَاهَا أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ تُؤْكَلَ لُحُومُ الْأَضَاحِيِّ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ؟ فَقَالَتْ مَا قَالَهُ إِلَّا فِي عَامٍ جَاعَ النَّاسُ فِيهِ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُطْعِمَ الْغَنِيُّ الْفَقِيرَ وَقَدْ كُنَّا نَرْفَعُ الْكُرَاعَ فَنَأْكُلُهَا بَعْدَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ قُلْتُ فَمَا اضْطَرَّكُمْ إِلَى ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ فَضَحِكَتْ وَقَالَتْ مَا شَبِعَ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ مِنْ خُبْزٍ مَأْدُومٍ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ حَتَّى لَحِقَ بِاللهِ ﷻ
Translation

✧ We asked her: Did the Messenger of God ﷺ forbid eating the meat of sacrificial animals after three days? She said: He said that only in a year when people were hungry, so he wanted the rich to feed the poor. And we used to keep the trotters and eat them after fifteen days. I said: What compelled you to that? He said: She laughed and said: The family of Muhammad ﷺ never had their fill of bread with condiment for three consecutive nights until he met God, may He be exalted.
