✧ I, Ammar, and al-Ashtar came to Aishah. Ammar said, "Peace be upon you, O my mother." She said, "Peace be upon him who follows guidance," until he repeated it to her two or three times. Then he said, "By Allah, you are indeed my mother, even if you dislike it." She said, "Who is this with you?" He said, "This is al-Ashtar." She said, "Are you the one who wanted to kill my nephew?" He said, "Yes, I wanted that and he wanted it." She said, "If you had done it, you would never have prospered. As for you, O Ammar, you have heard - or I have heard - the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'The blood of a Muslim man is not lawful except for three: except one who commits adultery after having been married, or one who disbelieves after having embraced Islam, or one who kills a soul and is killed in retaliation.'"
