حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جُبَيْرُ بْنُ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ عَوْفٍ قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَفَهِمْتُ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ عَلَيْهِ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ وَوَسِّعْ مُدْخَلَهُ وَاغْسِلْهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَالثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ وَنَقِّهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الْأَبْيَضَ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ وَأَبْدِلْهُ دَارًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِ وَأَهْلًا خَيْرًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ وَزَوْجًا خَيْرًا مِنْ زَوْجِهِ وَأَدْخِلْهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَنَجِّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَقِهِ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرِ

✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray over a deceased person, and I understood from his prayer over him: 'O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, pardon him, overlook him, honor his lodging, expand his entrance, wash him with water, snow, and hail, and purify him from sins as You purified the white garment from filth, and give him in exchange a home better than his home, a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse, and admit him to Paradise and save him from the Fire and protect him from the punishment of the grave.'
