✧ Said b. al-As sent a delegation from Iraq to Uthman, and they came praising him. Miqdad began throwing dirt in their faces and said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to throw dirt in the faces of the flatterers.” Sufyan said once: Miqdad stood and said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, ‘Throw dirt in the faces of the flatterers.’” Al-Zubayr said, “As for Miqdad, he fulfilled his duty.”
