✧ While I was sitting with Abu Salamah b. 'Abd al-Rahman, a man from Banu Ghifar, a son of 'Abd Allah b. Takhfah, came upon us. Abu Salamah said, 'Will you not tell us about your father's account?' He said: My father 'Abd Allah b. Takhfah told me that when guests became many with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: 'Let each man take away his own guest.' Then one night many guests gathered with him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Let each man take away the one sitting with him.' He said: I was among those who went away with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he entered, he said: 'O 'A'ishah, is there anything?' She said: 'Yes, a small sweet dish I prepared for your breaking of the fast.' He said: She brought it in a small wooden bowl of hers, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a little of it and ate. Then he said: 'Take in the name of Allah.' So we ate from it until we did not look at it anymore. Then he said: 'Do you have any drink?' She said: 'Yes, a little milk I prepared for you.' He said: 'Bring it.' She brought it, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took it and raised it to his mouth and drank a little. Then he said: 'Drink in the name of Allah.' So we drank until, by Allah, we did not look at it anymore. Then we left and I came to the mosque and lay down on my face. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out and began waking people: 'The prayer, the prayer.' And when he came out, he would wake people for the prayer. He passed by me while I was on my face and said: 'Who is this?' I said: 'I am 'Abd Allah b. Takhfah.' He said: 'This is a lying posture that Allah [Mighty and Majestic] dislikes.'
