✧ We complained to the Messenger of God ﷺ while he was reclining on a cloak in the shade of the Kaʿba. We said: Will you not ask God [Blessed and Exalted] for victory for us, or will you not seek help for us? He said: Among those before you, a man would be seized and a pit dug for him in the earth, then a saw would be brought and placed on his head and he would be split into two halves, yet that would not turn him away from his religion. And he would be combed with iron combs, removing the flesh and sinew from his bones, yet that would not turn him away. By God, God [Mighty and Majestic] will complete this matter until a rider travels from Madinah to Hadramawt fearing none but God [Exalted] and the wolf for his sheep. But you are impatient.
