✧ I entered upon Khabbāb and he had cauterized himself seven times. He said: Were it not that I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say, 'None of you should wish for death,' I would have wished for it. I saw myself with the Messenger of God ﷺ not owning a dirham, and now in the side of my house there are forty thousand dirhams. He said: Then his shroud was brought. When he saw it, he wept and said: But Ḥamza had no shroud except a striped cloak. When it was placed over his head, his feet showed, and when it was placed over his feet, his head showed, until it was stretched over his head and idhkhir grass was placed over his feet.
