✧ An old man sat with us in Ayyub's place and heard the people talking. He said: "My master narrated to me from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." I said: "What is his name?" He said: "Qara b. Du'muss al-Numayri." He said: "I came to Madinah and went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while people were around him. I tried to get close to him but could not. So I called out: 'O Messenger of Allah, ask forgiveness for the Numayri boy.' He said: 'May Allah forgive you.' He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent al-Dahhak b. Qays as a zakat collector. When he returned, he came back with fine camels. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: 'Did you go to Hilal b. 'Amir, Numayr b. 'Amir, and 'Amir b. Rabi'a and take the best of their wealth?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I heard you mention raiding, and I wanted to bring you camels that you could ride and carry loads on.' He said: 'By Allah, what you left is more beloved to me than what you took. Return them and take their zakat from the fringes of their wealth.' He said: I heard the Muslims calling those camels al-masan al-mujahidat (the warrior mature camels)."
