✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was sitting with his companions. He said: I said, “Which of you is the Prophet?” He said: Either he gestured to himself, or the people indicated him. He said: And there he was, sitting with his legs drawn up wrapped in a burdah, its fringe falling on his feet. He said: I said, “O Messenger of God, I am coarse about some things, so teach me.” He said: “Fear God [Mighty and Majestic], and do not deem any good deed insignificant, even if it is pouring from your bucket into the vessel of one asking for water. Beware of arrogance, for God [Blessed and Exalted] does not love arrogance. If a man insults you and reproaches you for something he knows about you, do not reproach him for something you know about him; then you will have its reward and he will have its sin. And do not insult anyone.”
