حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ قَالَ

كَتَبَ أَبُو بَكْرَةَ إِلَى ابْنِهِ وَهُوَ عَامِلٌ بِسِجِسْتَانَ: أَنْ لَا تَقْضِيَ بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ وَأَنْتَ غَضْبَانُ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: لَا يَقْضِي حَكَمٌ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ أَوْ خَصْمَيْنِ وَهُوَ غَضْبَانُ

Translation

✧ Abū Bakrah wrote to his son while he was a governor in Sijistān: Do not judge between two men while you are angry, for I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: A judge should not judge between two people or two adversaries while he is angry.
