حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ قَالَ

لَمَّا كَانَ ذَاكَ الْيَوْمُ رَكِبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَاقَتَهُ ثُمَّ وَقَفَ فَقَالَ: تَدْرُونَ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ هَذَا ؟ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَى حَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، وَقَالَ فِيهِ: أَلَا لِيُبَلِّغِ الشَّاهِدُ الْغَائِبَ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَرُبَّ مُبَلَّغٍ هُوَ أَوْعَى مِنْ مُبَلِّغٍ مِثْلَهُ ثُمَّ مَالَ عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ إِلَى غُنَيْمَاتٍ، فَجَعَلَ يَقْسِمُهُنَّ بَيْنَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ الشَّاةُ وَالثَّلَاثَةِ الشَّاةُ

Translation

✧ When that day came, the Messenger of God ﷺ mounted his she-camel, then stood and said: "Do you know what day this is?" And he mentioned the meaning of the hadith of Ibn Abi 'Adi, and said in it: "Behold, let the one present convey to the one absent" twice, "for many a one conveyed to is more retentive than the one who conveys it." Then he leaned his she-camel toward some small sheep and began dividing them among the men—two men, a sheep; and three, a sheep.

    يرويه يزيد بن إبراهيم التستري عن محمد بن سيرين عن أبي هريرة وقال ذلك عبد الوهاب الثقفي عن يزيد ولا يصح عن أبي هريرة وإنما رواه محمد بن سيرين عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكرة عن أبيه قال ذلك عبد الوهاب الثقفي ومعتمر عن أيوب وغيرهما يرويه عن ابن سيرين عن أبي بكرة وحديث أبي بكرة هو المحفوظ
