✧ I came to Madinah while a disease had struck it, and they were dying swiftly. I sat with Umar b. al-Khattab, and a funeral passed by him, and its occupant was praised with good. Umar said, 'It has become due.' Then another passed, and its occupant was praised with good, so he said, 'It has become due.' Then a third passed, and its occupant was disparaged with evil, so Umar said, 'It has become due.' I said, 'What has become due, O Commander of the Believers?' He said, 'I said as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Any Muslim for whom four people testify to good, Allah will admit him to Paradise."' He said, 'We said, "Or three?"' He said, 'Or three.' We said, 'Or two?' He said, 'Or two.' Then we did not ask him about one.
