✧ A man among those before you, God [Blessed and Exalted is He] gave him abundant wealth and children, until one era passed and another era came. When death was present to him, he said: "O my sons, what kind of father was I to you?" They said: "The best father." He said: "Will you obey me?" They said: "Yes." He said: "When I die, burn me until you leave me as charcoal." The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "They did that. Then crush me with the mortar," indicating with his hand. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "By God, they did that. Then scatter me in the sea on a windy day, so that perhaps I may evade God [Blessed and Exalted is He]." The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "By God, they did that. Then there he was in the grasp of God [Blessed and Exalted is He]. He said: 'O son of Adam, what led you to do what you did?' He said: 'O Lord, fear of You.' He said: 'Then God [Blessed and Exalted is He] met him with it."
