حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ شُعَيْبِبْنِ الْحَبْحَابِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْوَازِعِ جَابِرًا الرَّاسِبِيَّ ذَكَرَ أَنَّ أَبَا بَرْزَةَ حَدَّثَهُ
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ [قَالَ: ] قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي لَعَسَى أَنْ تَمْضِيَ وَأَبْقَى بَعْدَكَ، فَحَدِّثْنِي بِشَيْءٍ يَنْفَعُنِي اللهُ بِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: افْعَلْ كَذَا، افْعَلْ كَذَا، أَنَا نَسِيتُ ذَلِكَ، وَأَمِزِ الْأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ

✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [he said:] I said: O Messenger of Allah, I do not know—perhaps you will pass on and I will remain after you—so tell me something through which Allah will benefit me. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Do such-and-such, do such-and-such—I forgot that—and remove harm from the road.
