حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ مَوْلَى الْهُذَلِيِّينَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَاذَا لِي إِنْ قَاتَلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ حَتَّى أُقْتَلَ ؟ قَالَ: الْجَنَّةُ، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِلَّا الدَّيْنَ، سَارَّنِي بِهِ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of God, what will I have if I fight in the path of God until I am killed?' He said: 'Paradise.' He said: When he turned away, the Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Except for the debt; Gabriel ﷺ whispered it to me.'
