✧ Ali b. Abi Talib proposed to the daughter of Abu Jahl, while Fatima, the daughter of the Prophet ﷺ, was with him. When Fatima heard about that, she came to the Prophet ﷺ and said to him: 'Your people are saying that you do not get angry for your daughters, and this Ali is marrying the daughter of Abu Jahl.' Al-Miswar said: The Prophet ﷺ stood up, and I heard him when he testified, then he said: 'To proceed: I gave Abu al-As b. al-Rabi' in marriage, and he spoke to me and told me the truth. Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad, is a part of me, and I dislike that they should tempt her. By Allah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah and the daughter of the enemy of Allah shall never be joined with one man.' He said: So Ali abandoned the proposal.
