✧ Uthman b. Abi al-Aas narrates from the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْلَى الطَّائِفِيَّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ

اسْتَعْمَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الطَّائِفِ، وَكَانَ آخِرُ مَا عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: « خَفِّفْ عَنِ النَّاسِ الصَّلَاةَ ».

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ appointed me over Ta'if, and the last thing the Messenger of God ﷺ enjoined upon me was: "Lighten the prayer for the people."
