✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ on one of his journeys. He wanted to relieve himself, so he commanded two young palm trees, and they came together, then he commanded them and they returned to their places. A camel came and struck its chest to the ground, then rumbled until what was around it became wet. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Do you know what the camel says? It claims that its owner wants to slaughter it.” The Prophet ﷺ sent for him and said: “Will you give it to me?” He said: O Messenger of God, I have no property dearer to me than it. He said: “Treat it well.” He said: No indeed, I will never honor any property of mine as I honor it, O Messenger of God. He came to a grave whose occupant was being punished, and said: “He is being punished for nothing major.” He ordered a palm stalk and it was placed on his grave. He said: “Perhaps it will be lightened for him as long as it remains fresh.”
