✧ A man was brought by Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and He said: 'What did you do in the world?' The man said to Him: 'I did not do even an atom's weight of good that I could hope in You for.' He said it to him three times, and on the third time he said: 'O Lord, You had given me surplus wealth in the world, and I used to deal with people, and it was my habit to overlook their debts, and I used to be easy on the rich and grant time to the poor.' So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: 'We are more entitled to that than you. Overlook My servant.' So he was forgiven. Abu Mas'ud said: 'Thus I heard it from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' And another man ordered his family, when he died, to burn him, then grind him, then scatter him on a day of violent wind. They did that to him, and he was gathered to his Lord, Mighty and Majestic, who said to him: 'What made you do this?' He said: 'O Lord, there was no servant more disobedient to You than I, so I hoped to be saved.' Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: 'Overlook My servant.' So he was forgiven. Abu Mas'ud said: 'Thus I heard it from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'
