✧ We were with Muʿāwiyah while he was on his couch and had closed his eyes. We discussed the hijrah; one of us said it had ceased, and another said it had not ceased. Muʿāwiyah woke up and said, "What were you discussing?" We told him, and he—who rarely contradicted the Prophet ﷺ—said, "We discussed this in the presence of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: 'The hijrah will not cease until repentance ceases, and repentance will not cease until the sun rises from its west.'"
