حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ أَبِي النَّجُودِ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ الْبَكْرِيِّ قَالَ
قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، وَبِلَالٌ قَائِمٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مُتَقَلِّدٌ السَّيْفَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَإِذَا رَايَاتٌ سُودٌ، وَسَأَلْتُ مَا هَذِهِ الرَّايَاتُ؟ فَقَالُوا: عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ قَدِمَ مِنْ غَزَاةٍ.

✧ We arrived in Madinah, and there was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the pulpit, with Bilal standing before him girded with a sword in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and there were black banners. I asked, “What are these banners?” They said, “Amr b. al-‘As has come from a military expedition.”
