✧ "Gather in your mosques, and if a people gather, let them inform me." He said: So we gathered as the first of the people and came to him. He came walking with us until he sat with us. A speaker among us spoke and said: "Praise be to Allah, besides whose praise there is no retreat and beyond whom there is no escape," and something like this. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angry and stood up. So we blamed one another, and some of us reproached others, saying: "Allah favored us by him coming to us first of the people, and he did such and such." He said: So we went to him and found him in the mosque of Banu so-and-so. We spoke to him, and he came walking with us until he sat in his previous place or close to it. Then he said: "Indeed praise be to Allah; whatever Allah wills He places before it, and whatever He wills He places after it, and indeed some eloquence is magic." Then he turned to us and commanded us, spoke to us, and taught us.
