  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationSomeone other than Sharīk narrated this hadith, and the hadith of Yaḥyā was not traced back (musnad) by anyone other than Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd. As for al-Shāfiʿī, he rejects the hadith of ʿAṭāʾ and said: ʿAṭāʾ did not meet Rāfiʿ. My father said: Rather, he did meet him. I said: Ḥammād says that the Prophet ﷺ passed by a crop and they said: This belongs to Ẓuhayr b. Khadīj. My father said: Ḥammād made a mistake in this wording. It is not Ẓuhayr b. Khadīj; rather it is Ẓuhayr, the paternal uncle of Rāfiʿ b. Khadīj, who is not named [as his son].
