machine translationIts chain is confused (muḍṭarib). It is narrated by al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah, who at one time says: from Yaʿqūb b. Aws; at another: from ʿUqbah b. Aws, from a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ; at another: from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ; and at another: from Ibn ʿAmr.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 15553
  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationThis is a hadith about which there is disagreement on the authority of al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah. It is narrated from him from Ibn ʿUmar, and from him from Ibn ʿAmr. Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl narrated it as a mursal report from al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah, and Khālid al-Ḥadhdhāʾ said: from al-Qāsim, from ʿUqbah b. Aws, from Ibn ʿUmar. And this is more likely.
