حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِعَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ
قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، عَلِّمْنِي سُنَّةَ الْأَذَانِ، فَمَسَحَ بِمُقَدَّمِ رَأْسِي، وَقَالَ: قُلِ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، تَرْفَعُ بِهَا صَوْتَكَ، ثُمَّ تَقُولُ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ، تَخْفِضُ بِهَا صَوْتَكَ، ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ صَوْتَكَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ، أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ، حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ، حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ مَرَّتَيْنِ، فَإِنْ كَانَ صَلَاةُ الصُّبْحِ قُلْتَ: الصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ الصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ
Translation

✧ I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, teach me the sunnah of the adhan.' He wiped the front of my head and said: 'Say: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, raising your voice with it. Then say: Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah, ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah; ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah, twice, lowering your voice with it. Then raise your voice: Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah, twice; ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah, twice; hayya 'ala al-salah, hayya 'ala al-salah; hayya 'ala al-falah, hayya 'ala al-falah, twice. If it is the morning prayer, say: Prayer is better than sleep, prayer is better than sleep. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, la ilaha illa Allah.'
