in مسند أحمد, p. 15249 - Maghlaṭay
machine translationAs for the statement of Abū al-Qāsim in al-Awsaṭ, when he mentioned the hadith of Jābir: None narrated it from Abū Sufyān except al-Ḥajjāj, and none from al-Ḥajjāj except Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan; Wahb b. Baqiyyah was alone in narrating it. Hushaym narrated it from al-Ḥajjāj, from Abū ʿUthmān, from Abū Hurayrah. So it seems that it may be an error, because Ibn Maʿīn corroborated Wahb, as has preceded.
in مسند أحمد, p. 15249 - Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal
machine translationMihannā said: I asked Aḥmad about al-Ḥajjāj b. Abī Zaynab, and he said: He is one whose hadith is rejected (munkar al-ḥadīth). He narrates from Abū ʿUthmān that the Prophet ﷺ passed by Ibn Masʿūd, and he mentioned it. I said: And this is rejected (munkar)? He said: Yes.
