✧ The Dajjal will emerge at a time of weakness in religion and decline of knowledge. He will have forty nights during which he travels the earth: one day of them is like a year, one day is like a month, one day is like a week, and the rest of his days are like these days of yours. He has a donkey which he rides; the width between its ears is forty cubits. He says to the people, “I am your Lord,” though he is one-eyed, and indeed your Lord is not one-eyed. Written between his eyes is “kafir” — k f r — spelled out, which every believer, whether literate or not, will read. He will come to every watering place except Madinah and Makkah, which God has made forbidden to him, and the angels will stand at their gates. With him are mountains of bread while the people are in hardship except those who follow him. With him are two rivers, and I know them better than he does: one river he says is Paradise, and one river he says is Fire. Whoever is brought into the one he calls Paradise, it is the Fire; and whoever is brought into the one he calls Fire, it is Paradise. He said: And God will send with him devils that speak to people, and with him is a great trial. He commands the sky and it rains in what the people see, and he kills a soul then brings it back to life in what the people see, though he is not given power over any other person. He says, “O people, does anyone do the like of this except the Lord, Mighty and Majestic?” He said: Then the Muslims flee to the mountain of al-Dukhan in Syria, and he comes to them and besieges them; their siege becomes severe and he presses them with intense hardship. Then Jesus son of Mary descends and calls out at dawn, saying, “O people, what prevents you from going out against the wicked liar?” They say, “This is a jinni.” So they set out, and behold, it is Jesus son of Mary ﷺ. The prayer is established, and it is said to him, “Come forward, O Spirit of God.” He says, “Let your imam step forward and lead you in prayer.” Then when he has prayed the dawn prayer, they go out against him. He said: When the liar sees him, he dissolves as salt dissolves in water. He then walks to him and kills him, so that even the tree and the stone call out, “O Spirit of God, here is a Jew,” and he leaves none of those who followed him except that he kills him.
