حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَاصِمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ
مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَجَدَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ قَطُّ مَا وَجَدَ عَلَى أَصْحَابِ بِئْرِ مَعُونَةَ، أَصْحَابِ سَرِيَّةِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، فَمَكَثَ شَهْرًا يَدْعُو عَلَى الَّذِينَ أَصَابُوهُمْ فِي قُنُوتِ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ، يَدْعُو عَلَى رِعْلٍ وَذَكْوَانَ وَعُصَيَّةَ وَلِحْيَانَ، وَهُمْ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ
Translation

✧ I never saw the Messenger of God ﷺ grieve over anything as much as he grieved over the companions of the well of Ma'unah, the companions of the expedition of al-Mundhir b. Amr. He spent a month supplicating against those who killed them in the qunut of the dawn prayer, supplicating against Ri'l, Dhakwan, Usayyah, and Lihyan, who were from Banu Sulaym.
