Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said to Zayd, 'Go and mention her to me.' He said, 'So he set out until he came to her while she was covering her dough. When I saw her, she became great in my chest until I could not look at her, because the Messenger of God ﷺ had mentioned her.' Hashim said, 'When I knew that the Prophet ﷺ had proposed to her, I turned my back and retreated on my heels, and said, "O Zaynab, rejoice! The Messenger of God ﷺ sent me to mention you." She said, "I will do nothing until I consult my Lord, may He be exalted." She went to her prayer area, and the Quran descended. The Messenger of God ﷺ came and entered upon her without permission.' He said, 'I saw that the Messenger of God ﷺ fed us bread and meat on that occasion.' Hashim said in his narration, 'I saw us when she was brought to the Messenger of God ﷺ, we were fed bread and meat. The people left, but some men remained talking in the house after the meal. The Messenger of God ﷺ went out and I followed him. He began to go to the rooms of his wives, greeting them, and they said, "O Messenger of God, how did you find your wife?" He said, "I do not know whether I informed him that the people had left or he was informed." He went until he entered the house, and I went to enter with him, but he let down the curtain between me and him, and the hijab was revealed.' He said, 'The people were admonished with what they were admonished.' Hashim said in his narration: {'Do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless you are given permission, for a meal, without waiting for its preparation'} [Quran 33:53] {'nor lingering for conversation. Indeed, that was harming the Prophet, and he is shy of you, but God is not shy of the truth'} [Quran 33:53].
