  • Mubarakpūri

machine translationI have not found any sound raised (marfūʿ) hadith on sacrificing on behalf of the dead alone. As for the hadith of ʿAlī mentioned in this chapter, it is weak (ḍaʿīf).

    in مسند أحمد, p. 1293
  • Abū al-Ḥasan Nur al-Dīn ʿAlī b. Abi Bakr al-Haythamī

    in مسند أحمد, p. 1293
  • Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī

machine translationSharīk b. ʿAbdullāh was alone in narrating it with its chain. Even if it were established, it would indicate that it is permissible to sacrifice on behalf of those Muslims who have departed from this world.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 1293
  • Ishbīlī

machine translationThis Ḥanash is not to be relied upon as evidence.
