✧ A slave girl belonging to the Prophet ﷺ gave birth to a child from fornication. The Prophet ﷺ sent me to carry out the prescribed punishment on her. I found her in the blood, which had not dried on her. I returned to the Prophet ﷺ and told him. He said to me: 'When the blood has dried on her, flog her the prescribed punishment.' Then he said: 'Carry out the prescribed punishments on those whom your right hands possess.'

machine translationIn its chain of transmission is ʿAbd al-Aʿlā b. ʿĀmir al-Thaʿlabī. Aḥmad and Abū Zurʿah said of him: weak in hadith (ḍaʿīf al-ḥadīth). Yaḥyā said: he is known for some things and rejected for others (tuʿraf wa-tunkar), and on another occasion he said: trustworthy (thiqah). Al-Nasāʾī said in his al-Sunan al-Kubrā: he is not that strong. Ibn ʿAdī said: he narrated things in which he is not corroborated.
