  3. ʿAmmī / ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh b. Mawhab
  4. a freed slave of Liʾabī Saʿīd al-Khudrī

✧ While I was with Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, with the Messenger of God ﷺ, we entered the mosque, and there was a man sitting in the middle of the mosque, sitting with his legs drawn up and his fingers interlaced with one another. The Messenger of God ﷺ gestured to him, but the man did not notice the gesture of the Messenger of God ﷺ. He turned to Abu Sa'id and said: If one of you is in the mosque, let him not interlace his fingers, for interlacing is from Satan. Indeed, one of you remains in prayer as long as he is in the mosque until he leaves it.
